Uninsured Herefordshire drivers fined hundreds by court

Helen Ann Jenkins was proven guilty of one count of using a vehicle without insurance by magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard that the 54-year-old had been caught after getting behind the wheel of a Citroen on the B4260 Wilton Road in Ross-on-Wye on November 18 without a valid third party insurance policy in place.

Jenkins, of Pencraig, Ross, was fined £660 and received six penalty points. She must also pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £264 victim surcharge.

Robbie Jonathan Smith was proven guilty of one count of using a vehicle without insurance by magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard that the 26-year-old had driven a Honda CR-V without a valid third party insurance policy in place in Hereford’s Widemarsh Street on November 26.

Smith, of Sutton Road, Cross Keys, was fined £660 and received six penalty points. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £264 victim surcharge.

Eve Margaret Higson was proven guilty of one count of using a vehicle without insurance by magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard that the 26-year-old had driven a Kia in Hereford’s Kings Acre Road without a valid third party insurance policy in place on November 27.

Higson, of Sale Green, Droitwich, was fined £660 and received six penalty points. She was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £264 victim surcharge.
