Canbury School
Kingston Hill, Kingston upon Thames KT2 7LN
(For boys and girls aged 11-16)

CANBURY SCHOOL is small, and deliberately so. With only a maximum of 65 pupils on roll each is treated very much as an individual, hence our motto “An individual approach to success”.

The benefits of being so small are numerous:

  • Every child can be observed and have his or her individual skills drawn out;
  • Strengths and weaknesses in ‘learning’ can be identified and addressed early;
  • Children develop self-confidence and make friends more easily;
  • The work as well as the workload can be tailored to each pupil;
  • Higher levels of participation are achieved in and out of class;
  • Each child has a greater chance of experiencing a position of responsibility, such as being a prefect, house captain or member of the School Council;
  • Teachers will have a deeper understanding of every pupil;
  • Different teaching styles can be selected to suit the needs of each pupil.

Our aim is to create a genuine community in which no child is anonymous and in which each acquires the self-confidence that comes from being recognised and from achieving.

Kingston Grammar School
London Road, Kingston upon Thames KT2 6PY
(For boys and girls aged 10-18)

Kingston Grammar School is one of the most successful co-educational schools in the country, and has a long tradition of developing individual talent and encouraging high aspirations. Our pupils are bright and enthusiastic; their joy in life and spirit of curiosity makes education here a real pleasure.

Inspirational teaching and a deep commitment to pastoral care means that pupils grow in confidence and understanding, and individual talents and creativity are able to flourish. International GCSEs, the introduction of Mandarin into our curriculum and Extended Projects interweave with more traditional examinations to produce an exciting and vibrant academic diet, designed to challenge expectations and to engage pupils in a love of learning.
Marymount International School
George Road, Kingston upon Thames KT2 7PE
(For girls aged 11-18)

Marymount is a small, independent Catholic day and boarding school for girls aged 11 to 18, fully committed to the academic, emotional, spiritual, and social development of its students.

Established in 1955 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM), to meet the needs of families in the international business and diplomatic community, we embrace and embody the RSHM Mission “that all may have life”. We welcome girls of all nationalities and religious traditions, providing a unique environment of cultural exchange and understanding.

In 1979 we were the first girls’ school in the United Kingdom to adopt the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma programme. This was a daring decision reflecting remarkable educational foresight thus enabling us to meet the needs of our students: empowering them to become independent, critical thinkers and active, lifelong learners. The pursuit of knowledge twinned with a keen sense of social justice reflects the IB philosophy and Catholic values at the very heart of our Community. Our students graduate to the finest universities in the world and stand out as confident, compassionate and courageous thinkers who are the leaders of tomorrow. Marymount London is a member of the Girls’ School Association, the Boarding Schools Association and the Independent Schools Council. It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools & Colleges (USA) and the Council of International Schools and inspected in the UK by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
