Police are investigating the suspicious reports in Barnet after the 13-year-old boy was approached on Lullington Garth while he was waiting for a bus on Tuesday (December 3) at around 4pm.
It is claimed the man repeatedly offered the boy a lift home.
The victim was instead able to walk home and alert his parents.
Police say the suspected car was white, but no further details have been shared.
Some schools within the Barnet area have shared out the information to warn parents.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Officers are currently investigating a suspicious report in Barnet on Tuesday, 3 December.
“A young boy, who was waiting at a bus stop on Lullington Garth was approached by a man in a white car at around 16:00hrs. The man repeatedly offered the boy a lift home.
“The 13-year-old victim was able to walk home and tell his parents, who contacted the police.
“Enquiries remain ongoing and officers are reviewing CCTV from the area.”
