Top five most and least dangerous London areas revealed in crime data

The data, put together by Online Marketing Surgery and West Midland Garage Doors, has revealed the top five most and least dangerous areas in London by crime statistics. 

The figures rank London boroughs based on their crime rates per 1,000 people in a year ending March 2024, using recorded crime data from the Office for National Statistics. 

Westminster has been named as London’s most dangerous borough in the data, with a crime rate per 1,000 people of 446.4 and 84,016 crimes reported in the space of a year.

The borough’s crime rate was calculated as 188, with 36,650 reported crimes. 

Kensington and Chelsea was named as the third most dangerous London borough with a 164.5 crime rate and 21,328 reported crimes in a year ending March 2024. 

Islington’s crime rate of 130.2 placed it as the fourth most dangerous London borough, with 28,349 crimes reported. 

The data reports that Hammersmith and Fulham is the fifth most dangerous area, with a crime rate of 125.3 per 1,000 people and 21,545 reported crimes.

Sutton’s crime rate has been recorded as 62.7 with 13,514 crimes reported, with Harrow in close third with a crime rate of 63.2 and 16,254 reported crimes. 

Merton and Bexley placed fourth and fifth, with crime rates of 65.1 and 68. 

In Merton, 13,936 crimes were reported in the year ending March 2024, and 16,140 crimes reported in Bexley. 

Bromley, Kingston upon Thames, Barnet, Redbridge and Havering completed the second half of the top ten least dangerous areas in London.
