Here are the top three tapas restaurants in the city according to Tripadvisor.

Cafe Miro

According to its website, the cafe is fronted by a passionate barista, who creates gourmet coffees, and an incredible head chef preparing artisan food. 

With such an extensive menu and delicious offerings, it’s not hard to see why the cafe has a 4.5-star rating, based on 258 reviews.

One reviewer said: “Visited for breakfast while in Hereford. It was excellent. Service was fantastic. Menu is great. Food was absolutely delicious. Really good and very impressed”.

Another reviewer wrote: “I come here regularly. There’s a lovely outdoor area which is a real sun trap. I’m vegetarian and enjoy the goat’s cheese and red onion chutney sandwich that comes with tasty potato wedges. In the evenings I love coming here for tapas, it’s absolutely delicious.”

The city centre cafe, in St Owen Street has also earned high praise for its breakfasts. The breakfast menu offers a range of choices, including a classic full English breakfast, and a hashbrowns staker, with homemade hashbrowns, avocado, poached egg, hollandaise and chilli oil.

Complimenting its tapas, one reviewer said: “We went for an evening meal and had the tapas, which was wonderful! We went for four each but the portions were generous and we were pretty full at the end of them! But not too full to enjoy a delicious dessert.”

2 Bridges Hereford

The popular tapas restaurant was previously Gilbies but reopened in March under new ownership. 

Herefordshire chefs, Mickey Provis and William Chambers are now at the helm of the restaurant, which is tucked away off Commercial Street.

On Tripadvisor, the restaurant has a 4.5 rating, based on 45 reviews.

One reviewer said: “Visited for a Christmas work do and was really impressed. The food was really good, lovely atmosphere.

The staff were incredibly good-natured despite dealing with a large, rowdy group and did everything with a smile, nothing was too much trouble.

“As the only vegan in the group I felt really looked after, I had confidence that the staff were knowledgeable about what food contained and the food was delicious. A good night was had by all and I would definitely recommend.”

Speaking of their positive experience, another reviewer said: “Incredible food and wonderful staff, they were very attentive.

“The food was that good it just makes us want to go there every time we are out for food. It is definitely worth a visit and make sure you book especially on a Sunday. Look forward to returning over the festive period.”

Cosy Club

On Tripadvisor, the chain restaurant is described as having “timeless glamour”, and providing a “warm welcoming service” to its customers in Widemarsh Street. The bar and restaurant are open from 9am until late, for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, wine and cocktails.

The restaurant added that various spaces are available for Christmas parties and all manner of celebrations, meetings and events.

One reviewer said: “Me and husband came here on our day out shopping in Hereford. It’s one of the prettiest Cosy’s I’ve been in! the staff were friendly and happy, and the food was delicious.

“I had three tapas and my husband had the cosy sandwich. I love that you get a portion of bread with the tapas deal. It was a lovely light lunch!”

Another reviewer complimented the tapas, saying: “We found this place during a short break to the Hereford area and had lunch here twice.

“The tapas and sandwiches are great but the best thing is the cosy gentleman’s club-style decor and real log fire. On a cold autumn afternoon it was great.”
