Pedestrian in 20s dies after crash with lorry in Putney

Emergency services were called to Lytton Grove just before 2pm yesterday (November 2) to reports of a crash between a lorry and a pedestrian.

Both the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance attended the scene.

The pedestrian, believed to be a male in his 20s, died soon after the paramedics attempted to help him.

The driver of the lorry was stopped at the scene.

No arrests have been made.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 1.43pm on Saturday, 2 November to reports of a collision between a lorry and pedestrian on Lytton Grove, SW15.

“Emergency services attended.

“Sadly, despite the efforts of paramedics the pedestrian – who is believed to be aged in his 20s – died a short time later.

“The driver stopped at the scene.

“There have been no arrests.”

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 1.41pm today (Saturday 2 November) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Lytton Grove and West Hill, SW15.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.

“Our crews attended the scene alongside other emergency services.

“Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man died at the scene.”
