Lengths of road have been identified for resurfacing works following detailed and comprehensive surface and structural condition surveys.
Cllr Barry Durkin, Cabinet member for roads and regulatory services, said: “Resurfacing is a key element of our approach to repairing and maintaining our county’s highways network. It is an extensive method used on roads that are nearing the end of their life or where there may be significant structural issues.
“Resurfacing involves the removal of the existing road surface, remedial works being carried out to the structural layers of the road and then a new road surface being laid, and can extend the life of a road for 15 to 25 years.
“We’re pleased to announce this next stage of works, which will help to improveA and B roads, and is part of our additional investment of £12million that we are making this year to improve Herefordshire’s highways network.”
