The issue was first reported between Radlett and Kentish Town at around 7.30am today (December 5).
Several rail lines between Luton and London St Pancras International have been affected by the issue.

This is only impacting East Midlands Railway and Thameslink services while the damage is being repaired.
National Rail confirmed on X (formally known as Twitter) that disruption was initially expected until 9am.
However, this has now been extended until the end of the day.
Trains between Luton and St Pancras International may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
The issue is expected to be resolved by tomorrow (December 6).
