Investigation launched into death in Cradley, Herefordshire

It is understood that he got trapped between two vehicles.

West Mercia Police has confirmed that they were called at around 10.45am this morning (July 28) after reports of an industrial accident on Woodend Farm in Cradley.

“Police attended and unfortunately the man was pronounced dead at the scene,” said a spokesperson.

“There are not believed to be suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared by the coroner.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called to a farm off the B4220 near Cradley at 10.38am and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a man had become trapped between two vehicles. He was in a critical condition and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support.

“Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

However, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has said the incident happened in a retail storage facility and not on a farm.

A spokespersson said that the HSE was notified, but it is one for the local authority to investigate.
