Croydon’s over and undersubscribed primary schools 2023
There are 78 primary schools in Croydon, and 27 of those schools had more people choose that school as their first preference than the amount that could actually be enrolled for the term commencing from September 2023.
Primary school applications for the academic year 2024/25 have now closed, but the 27 oversubscribed primary schools this academic year are:

- Fairchildes Primary School
- Ridgeway Primary School
- Coulsdon CofE Primary School
- Christ Church CofE Primary School (Purley)
- Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School
- St Thomas Becket Catholic Primary School
- St Mary’s Catholic Infant School
- Margaret Roper Catholic Primary School
- St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School
- Gilbert Scott Primary School
- Aerodome Primary Academy
- The Crescent Primary School
- Atwood Primary Academy
- St James the Great RC Primary and Nursery School.
On the other hand, the school with the lowest intake rates is New Valley Primary School – which is only 50 per cent full – with 20 pupils being allocated there and 10 spaces being available.
Harris Primary Academy Purley Way and Krishna Avanti Primary School also had low intake rates, however, it’s important to note that these schools are new and recently opened.
