Croydon Coulsdon: Man in life threatening condition after crash

Police were called at 11.35am yesterday (September 15) to reports of a crash involving a van and a pedestrian at the junction of Brighton Road and Woodfield Hill.

Emergency services attended the seen and the pedestrian, a man aged in his 90s, was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

His family have been informed.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD 2909/15Sep.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Police were called at 11:35hrs on Friday, 15 September to reports of a collision involving a van and a pedestrian at the junction of Brighton Road and Woodfield Hill in Coulsdon.

“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 90s, was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

“His family have been informed.

“The driver of the van stopped at the scene.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has information about what happened, is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 2909/15Sep.”
